Malcolm Gladwell writes a review of Anderson’s Free in the New Yorker. Here’s the rub. Let’s say the internet is free, and we feel liberated. No profit however from doing anything. Yet, yet..

Food and a place to sleep and health and travel cost. So what to do? We are all liberated in cyberspace, democratic and empowered. But in the real world, the non of material stuff we are dead beats and broke.

The new class: those who own property, and the rest who are without sources of income because nothing much  pays.

So we have a deep problem: how to distribute income and wealth if jobs don’t do it?
